SAN LEANDRO (KRON) — An 85-year-old San Leandro woman was killed Tuesday morning after she was struck by an SUV, according to police.
The victim was crossing the 1600 block of Manor Boulevard near St. Felicitas Catholic Church shortly after 6:30 a.m. when she was struck by the SUV, police said.
According to police, the driver, a 33-year-old Hayward man, had just left his job after working the midnight shift. Drugs and alcohol are not thought to have been a factor, and the driver was traveling at the speed limit of 25 mph.

Police say the woman was knocked unconscious by the collision and later died of her injuries at a hospital. It’s unclear if the woman was in a crosswalk.
The SUV’s driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
