Crews rescue person under BART train

BERKELEY (KRON) — Firefighters rescued a person who was caught under a train this morning at the Downtown Berkeley BART station

BART officials closed the station at 8:38 a.m. after reports that someone was injured but alive. Medical personnel have since been working to get that person off the tracks, said spokeswoman Denise Gonzalez.

Trains are not currently stopping at the Downtown Berkeley station, according to Gonzalez.

A 20-minute delay is affecting primarily affecting passengers headed towards Fremont, Richmond and Daly City, according to BART officials.

Other lines remain unaffected, however, Gonzalez said.
