SAN JOSE (KRON) — A 22-year-old man was killed Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle in East San Jose, police said.
Police responded at around 6:40 p.m. to a report of a traffic accident involving a pedestrian at South King Road and Waverly Avenue, near the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority bus stop.
After a preliminary investigation, officers determined the victim had exited a bus, then ran behind the bus and onto the roadway. He was struck by a black 1997 BMW traveling south on South King Road, according to police.
The victim was transported to a hospital where he later died, police said.
This is San Jose’s 52nd fatal traffic accident this year, according to police.
