Hwy 1 closed due to fallen tree near Mill Valley

MARIN COUNTY (KRON) – State Highway 1 near Mill Valley is closed in both directions Tuesday morning due to downed trees blocking the roadway.

California Highway Patrol first received a report of a downed tree blocking the entire roadway just north of Erica Road in unincorporated Marin County at 4:02 a.m., according to CHP officials.

CHP officials issued the Sig-alert closing the highway in both directions at 4:48 a.m.

The highway is estimated to reopen around 8 a.m., according to CHP officials.

Highway officials are advising drivers to use alternate routes.

Meanwhile in Alameda, the storm brought down a huge tree that blocked both sides of a popular street.

A business owner told KRON about the major concerns surrounding trees on that street.
