RICHMOND (KRON) — A man was shot and killed Monday night in North Richmond, according to a Contra Costa County sheriff’s lieutenant.
Lt. Kristi Butterfield said deputies responded to an incident near Market Avenue and Fifth Street at around 10 p.m. Butterfield did not provide many details, but she said a man was shot and killed there.
Homicide investigators are still looking into the shooting and more information is expected to be released on Wednesday.
There was another homicide about a block away in North Richmond last month. On Nov. 26, 23-year-old Isela Moreno was found dead at a home in the 400 block of Market Avenue, according to sheriff’s officials.
Sheriff’s officials said the following day that they were seeking two men, Guillermo Sanchez, 21, and Lamont Patterson, 19, in Moreno’s death.
An update on that case was not immediately available Monday.
