SEBASTOPOL (KRON) — Sebastopol police said a woman was raped while walking along a street Sunday night.
It happened on Pitt Avenue, near Keating Avenue. Police said the 51-year-old woman was walking when a man forced her into a secluded area and attacked her.
She said she did not know the suspect, described as a white or Hispanic man probably under the age of 30 who is about 6 feet tall, “kind of skinny” with combed-back hair, police said. The suspect wore dark pants and possibly a dark jacket.
The victim reported hearing a vehicle drive away after the assault but said she wasn’t certain if it was related. She said she saw a small white car with a long rear window parked nearby prior to the rape and it was gone by the time she departed the area, according to police.
Anyone with information about the case of a possible suspect is encouraged to call Acting Sgt. David Harston or Officer Victor Aguilar at (707) 829-4400.
Another woman was also attacked last month when she was sleeping in her van.
If you have any information, you are urged to call Sebastopol police.
