San Bruno police arrest San Francisco resident on suspicion of burglary

SAN BRUNO (KRON) — San Bruno police have arrested a San Francisco man on Christmas Eve on suspicion of burglarizing a San Bruno home, according to police.

Police said they responded to the 2700 block of Cottonwood Drive at around 11:30 a.m. to a report of a home burglary in progress.

Officers set up a perimeter and arrested 21-year-old Lavonte Shaw, who left the home through a window and ran, according to police.

Shaw was on probation for attempted burglary, police said.

Officers are encouraging residents to be vigilant and report suspicious vehicles or persons in their neighborhood by calling 911 immediately.

Most home burglars target homes where they believe no one is at home.

Alert neighbors are the biggest help to police in solving home burglaries. Investigating the case is the police department’s Investigative Services Section.

Anyone with information about the burglary is being asked to call the San Bruno Police Department at (650) 616-7100 or email the department at sbpdtipline@sanbruno.ca.gov.
