RICHMOND (KRON) — A 40-yar-old man was shot and killed in Richmond on Sunday afternoon, according to police.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired at 4:56 p.m. near South 26th Street and Cutting Boulevard, police said.
Police also received 911 calls reporting a man down.
When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds, according to police.
Medical personnel arrived on scene and pronounced the victim dead. Police have identified him as 40-year-old Richmond resident Nekolas Evans.
Witnesses at the scene were unable to provide any information about the shooting suspect, police said.
The shooting marks the city’s 20th homicide of the year.
