74-year-old pedestrian struck and killed by car in Brentwood

BRENTWOOD (KRON) — A 74-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday morning in Brentwood, police said.

At around 9:22 a.m., Brentwood police officers responded to the reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle at Brentwood Boulevard and Homecoming Way, according to police.

East Contra Costa Fire Protection District paramedics were called to the scene and provided medical aid to the victim, who was unconscious and suffering major injuries.

The Brentwood resident, whose name has not yet been released, was then taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

The motorist involved in the collision remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Police said they are still investigating.
