Motorcyclist in hospital after crash in Belmont

BELMONT (KRON) — A late-night motorcycle crash in Belmont Monday left a rider hospitalized. according to police.

The motorcyclist was driving west down the 1500 block of Ralston Avenue around 11:30 p.m. when a light colored sedan or Toyota Corolla made a Left-hand turn in front of the bike near the entrance to Notre Dame de Namur University, police said.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a black helmet, dark clothing and riding a red Honda CBR 1000, tried to stop but crashed the bike near a landscaped area.

The other vehicle left the area headed east on Ralston Avenue, according to police.

The incident is not being investigated as a hit-and-run, and the driver may have been unaware of the motorcycle crash, but investigators are looking for more information.
