VIDEO: Local Korean American Advocate discusses Japan, South Korea agreement

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Japan and South Korea had an historic agreement this week over the long standing issue of “comfort women,” the term used to describe woman used as sex slaves by the Japanese Military during World War II.

With the new agreement, the Japanese government is going to pay more than $8 million to the women who suffered during that time.

Local Korean American Advocate Susie Coover joined Marty Gonzalez on KRON 4 News Weekend Saturday morning to discuss the topic and give insight into the issues and new agreement. The full interview is located in the video above.
