(BCN) – A firefighter suffered a minor injury in a three-alarm fire this afternoon in unincorporated Solano County that destroyed a home and multiple
vehicles, a Vacaville Fire Protection District spokesman said.
Fire officials reported the fire on Twitter at 3:11 p.m. in the 5900 block of Cherry Glen Road. The officials said the fire was burning a barn, but have clarified the fire burned a home.
The firefighter was taken to a hospital for treatment, spokesman John Zazrivy said. No civilians or pets appear to have been injured, he said.
The fire destroyed a single-family home and at least five vehicles.
“There’s nothing left,” Zazrivy said.
Firefighters knocked down the fire at about 4 p.m.
Zazrivy said the occupants of the former building will be able to get help with temporary housing from the American Red Cross if necessary.
Fire officials do not know how the fire started or whether the fire was intentionally set until they do an investigation. The investigation will begin Monday.
Zazrivy said extinguishing the fire was made more difficult because there are no fire hydrants nearby. Firefighters had to use trucks to transport water to the home.
