PLEASANT HILL (KRON) — Two people died in a car accident on Sunday night in Pleasant Hill, according to police.
Police responded around 8:05 p.m. to a vehicle collision near Contra Costa Boulevard at the northbound I-680 off-ramp, Pleasant Hill Police said.
The car overturned after colliding with the rail, according to police.
The driver and two passengers were taken to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, police said.
The male driver, 69, and a female passenger, 68, were pronounced dead at the hospital.
Another female passenger, 78, is in stable but critical condition.
Coroner’s officials identified Emilio Lopez, 69, as the driver and Maria Lopez, 68, as the passenger who were seriously injured in the crash and later died. Both are Pleasant Hill residents.
