FAIRFIELD (BCN) – Police in Fairfield cited seven people for misdemeanors after they allegedly bought alcohol for minors during a sting operation Wednesday.
Over a period of six hours, a pair of 19 year olds employed by the Fairfield Police Department contacted a total of 27 people entering liquor stores on East Tabor Avenue, North Texas and West Texas streets.
Eight of them agreed to purchase beer for the teens after they explicitly stated that they were under 21. They were issued misdemeanor citations for furnishing alcohol to a minor, according to police.
Fairfield police conducted a similar operation in June, contacting 47 people and citing 6 of them.
