MILPITAS (BCN) — Police arrested a Gilroy woman after an officer found her sitting inside a stolen vehicle at a Milpitas gas station last month, police announced Saturday.
On Dec. 25 at about 10:30 p.m. an officer was patrolling the parking lot of a Chevron gas station located at 1249 Great Mall Drive when he noticed a parked Toyota Camry, according to police.
The officer checked the license plate of the car and discovered it was reported stolen out of Gilroy.
The officer contacted a woman who was allegedly sitting inside. She has been identified as 20-year-old Samantha Chavez, police said.
The officer arrested Chavez on suspicion of auto theft and possession of stolen property. Chavez has been booked into the Santa Clara County jail, according to police.
