BENICIA (KRON) — A Benicia factory that makes Kettlepop products has been closed because of a rodent problem.
The Gold Rush Kettle Corn factory was forced to shut down production and distribution of the popcorn snacks after a recent infestation. Mouse traps were seen outside their warehouse door.
Owl decoys have been placed on the rooftop in hopes of deterring the pests. According to the general manager, the recent El Nino-storms may have caused field mice to move into the building.
The company said the factory will remain closed and no products will leave until the problem can be fixed.
