SAN RAFAEL (KRON) — A man in Corte Madera was shot in the chest Friday morning during a group fight in San Rafael, according to police Sgt. Carl Huber.

Huber said officers were called to the fight that involved several people in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven located at 703 B St. at around 2:30 a.m.

Officers found Anthony Williams, 22, of Corte Madera, suffering from a gunshot wound, Huber said. He was treated at Marin General Hospital and released.

Police broadcast a description of a vehicle occupied by the suspects who fled, and Central Marin Police Authority officers stopped it on Fourth and Ross streets, Huber said.

Jonathan Howlin, 22, of Auburn, a passenger in the vehicle, was identified as the shooter and he was arrested for attempted murder, Huber said.

The driver, James Saucer, 23, of Point Reyes Station, was arrested for attempted murder and being an accessory to a felony, Huber said. Both men were booked in the Marin County Jail.
