Victim assaulted during attempted robbery in Union City

UNION CITY (BCN) — Police in Union City are investigating a Saturday attempted armed robbery.

Officers responded at 11:45 p.m. to a report of an attempted armed robbery that occurred in the area of Fredi Street and Queensboro Way.

The victim told police he was walking from his car with his cellphone in his hand when two suspects approached him and demanded the phone.

When the victim refused, both suspects pulled knives on the victim.

The victim turned to run away, but he fell on the ground, and the suspects kicked him in the face and then fled the area.

The first suspect was described as a black male, 15 to 18 years old, 5 feet tall and 120 pounds.

The second suspect was described as a black male, 15 to 18 years old, 5 feet 2 inches and about 130 pounds
