OAKLAND (KRON) – Oakland experienced record-setting high temperatures on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
The temperature in downtown Oakland and at the Oakland International Airport hit 74 degrees, forecasters said.
That broke a record at the airport of 69 degrees set in 1963 and a record in downtown Oakland of 72 degrees set in 1987.
Temperatures were well above normal Sunday in the Bay Area with many locations in the 70s. The normal highs are in the high 50s or lower 60s.
Monday will also see warm temperatures, but the warmest is expected in the South Bay.
