LOS ANGELES (KRON) — An elderly Los Angeles man is recovering after spending four days stuck in an outdoor vending stand.
Officers say they pulled the 84-year-old vendor out of the wooden structure on Monday.
The man somehow locked himself inside while he was selling newspapers.
He was trapped until someone heard him Monday afternoon and called police.
The man survived unseasonably high temperatures over the weekend without food or water.
“He was completely weak, he as dehydrated, he was just having hard time breathing,” said Dikran melkonian of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police say the vendor was hospitalized after his rescue.
