SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The sex offender rehab organization known as Sharper Future has stopped its efforts to move into a building on 100 Church Street in the Duboce Triangle area.
The Sharper Future president released a statement just before 8 p.m.:
“Sharper Future has decided to immediately halt efforts to move into 100 Church Street. After Monday evening’s meeting, it is clear that our presence would be divisive for everyone concerned. Out of respect for the community and the very critical work that we do, we’ve elected to seek an alternative location.”
Many community members were outspoken in their opposition, citing, among other things, how two preschools were within 250 feet of the building.
