Bart officials say that a pedestrian was not hit, but still experiencing delays

(BCN) – BART officials said a train did not strike a person tonight between the Ashby and MacArthur stations.

The officials originally said a train did strike a person.

The incident was first reported at 9:10 p.m., BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost said.

A person was walking on the tracks between Ashby and MacArthur stations and a train operator reported that the train might have hit a person.

BART police have taken the person who was walking on the tracks into custody.

Normal service is recovering but some delays may exist, especially in downtown Oakland where the platforms have been crowded.
