MARIN COUNTY (BCN) — A man’s body that was found at Muir Beach in Marin County on Thursday does not match any reported missing persons, a county coroner’s
office spokesman said.
The body was found by a fisherman on the rocky shoreline around 11:35 a.m. and had been in the water between 24 and 72 hours, Chief Deputy Coroner Darrell Harris said this morning.
The Asian man between 25 and 35 years old was approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighed 160 pounds with brown eyes, short black hair, a medium-length wiry mustache and a goatee, Harris said.
He was wearing a black long-sleeved NordicTrack shirt and black Catapult K-Mart-brand tennis shoes. There were no scars, marks, tattoos or personal property on the body and tests of his fingerprints did not disclose his identity, according to Harris.
He has not been linked with any other person or a vehicle, Harris said.
“He could have come from anywhere,” Harris said.
An autopsy will be conducted early this week, he said.
A body that was found around 2 p.m. Saturday on the shoreline of Brighton Beach in Bolinas has been identified as a 22-year-old Mountain View man who was reported missing and possibly suicidal by his family on Friday, Harris said.
The Marin County coroner’s office is working with the Golden Gate Bridge District to review security camera footage and determine if the man jumped from the bridge.
The man’s cellphone signal was tracked to an area near the bridge Friday, according to Harris.
