WATSONVILLE (KRON) — A nine-year-old boy was airlifted to a trauma center after being shot in his Watsonville home early Tuesday morning, according to police.
Officers were dispatched around 3:57 a.m. to the 300 block of Ford Street on reports of a victim of a gunshot wound, police said.
Upon arrival, police found the boy suffering from a single gunshot wound.
Medical personnel treated him at the scene before he was airlifted to this hospital.
The injury is considered to be non-life threatening, police said.
A possible suspect vehicle was heard speeding away from the area, however, there is no description of the vehicle at this time.
TThere is little information on the incident, police said.
