Man tried to lure 9-year-old boy into truck outside of Rohnert Park elementary school

ROHNERT PARK (KRON) — Police are looking for a man who tried to lure a 9-year-old boy into his pickup truck at an elementary school Monday morhning in Rohnert Park, officials said.

The suspect pulled into the parking lot of Marguerite Hahn Elementary School at 825 Hudis St. between 8 a.m. and 8:20 a.m., according to the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety.

He then asked the boy if he wanted to see his car, public safety officials said.

The boy refused and the suspect left. The boy then notified staff at school.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid 30s with a thin build, brown hair and a dark goatee. He was wearing a red and white hat, jeans and sunglasses. The white full-size pickup had black rims and a large toolbox in the rear of the cab, according to the department.

All schools in the Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District were notified about the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety at (707) 584-2630 or email rpdpsinvestigations@rpcity.org.
