Suspect arrested for threatening to blow up bank

UNION CITY (KRON) — A man was arrested in Union City for allegedly threatening to blow up a bank.

Anthony La, 42, of Union City, was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats and possession of combustible material for arson.

On March 8, 2016, officers responded at 11:10 a.m. to a report of criminal threats being made at Fremont Bank on Alvardo Boulevard in Union City.

A bank employee reported a suspect smelling of gasoline threatening to “blow up” the bank, according to police.

The suspect, identified as La, was located nearby with an improvised Molotov cocktail.
