(BCN) – A 21-year-old man died early this morning in a shooting at a home in Salinas, police said.
Dispatchers received a call at 3:50 a.m. from a person who said a shooting had occurred at a home in the 1100 block of Ranchero Drive. The caller said the shooting happened about 30 minutes earlier and a man was dead in home’s living room, according to police.
When officers arrived, they looked through the living room window and saw a man on the floor. Officers forced their way into the home and found Ruben Estrada suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.
Estrada was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers learned a party at the home started Saturday evening and went into the early hours of today, police said.
But no one was at the home when officers arrived.
Estrada is not known by Salinas police as a gang member. Police do not have a motive in the homicide, which is the city’s eighth this year, police said.
