SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — One day after he resigned amid a sexual harassment investigation, the former Cal assistant basketball coach at the center of the scandal now has a new job.
Yann Hufnagel tweeted on Friday, “I’m back doing what I love… coaching basketball!”
He will now be an assistant coach at Nevada. The 33-year-old Hufnagel resigned from Cal on Thursday.
He was fighting sexual harassment allegations, saying that he tried to trick a female sports reporter into coming to his apartment and that he sent her unwelcome sexually suggestive text messages in 2014 and 2015.
He had been on paid-leave pending his appeal.
Nevada men’s basketball coach Eric Musselman praised Hufnagel in a statement on the school’s website, saying Hufnagel is “a high energy coach and recruiter, and we’re happy to have him in our program.”
