SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A 90- year-old man was involved in a car accident after he hit his gas pedal and struck a barrier at a parking lot in San Francisco’s Nob Hill neighborhood on Saturday morning, police said Monday.
The elderly man is facing serious injuries after it was reported that he was not wearing his seat belt.
The crash was reported at about 8:35 a.m. in the 1300 block of Jones Street.
According to police officials, the man hit the gas pedal, sending his car forward into a barrier. He struck his head on the windshield of his car and suffered multiple rib fractures and possible brain bleeding.
The man was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were considered serious but not life-threatening, according to police officials.
