A 14 acre vegetation fire broke out in Alameda County

Alameda County (BCN) – Firefighters extinguished a vegetation fire that burned 14 acres in unincorporated Alameda County, an Alameda County Fire Department spokeswoman said.

Firefighters extinguished the fire, which was located off Byron Highway, at 5:06 p.m., fire spokeswoman Aisha Knowles said.

Crews first responded at 1:46 p.m. to the area of Byron-Bethany and Mountain House roads.

Power lines fell near the fire and a helicopter was used for reconnaissance but could not drop water on the fire because of the power lines, Knowles said.
