Traffic stop leads officers to concealed gun arrest

FAIRFIELD (BCN) — A traffic enforcement stop led officers in Fairfield to a fun arrest late Friday night, according to police.

Police said at 10:45 p.m. officers conducted a traffic on Sunset Avenue near East Tabor Avenue.

Officers ran records on the driver, 21-year-old Ronzell Oatman of Pittsburg, which revealed he allegedly had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

According to police, officers conducted a search of the vehicle and found a semi-automatic handgun tucked under the driver’s seat.

Police said Oatman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle, as well as the alleged outstanding warrant and booked into the county jail.
