PLEASANTON (KRON) — One person was killed in a fiery car crash Wednesday morning on Interstate 580 in Pleasanton.
The accident happened around 5:50 a.m. on westbound I-580 near Hopyard, according to California Highway Patrol.
Six cars were involved in the accident including a big rig, authorities said. Three cars caught fire.
A big rig ran into the back of a BMW causing the multi-car crash.
Four right westbound lanes were blocked for nearly three hours.
The scene was cleared and the lanes were reopened around 9 a.m.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
