MILPITAS (BCN) — A 34-year-old transient man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of driving under the influence of a drug and other offenses, Milpitas police said.
At 2:53 a.m., officers tried to stop Ronald Enriquez Jr. as he was driving a white, 4-door Honda Accord in the 900 block of East Calaveras Boulevard.
When allegedly Enriquez Jr. started driving on the wrong side of the road, a five-mile pursuit ensued until he crashed the Honda into a fire hydrant and a home in San Jose, according to police.
Officers then arrested Enriquez without further trouble. No one in the home suffered an injury. The home sustained minor damage, police said.
Police allegedly found a gun, bullets, 16 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the Honda, according to police.
Enriquez was taken to the county jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of a drug, carrying a concealed gun, possessing a gun as a felon, possessing bullets as a felon, possessing methamphetamine for sale, transporting drugs, possessing drugs while armed with a gun, evading police by driving against traffic and driving on a suspended license.
