LOS ANGELES (AP) – Divers searching for two missing teenagers in the Los Angeles River have found two bodies.
Police Det. Meghan Aguilar said she couldn’t immediately confirm their identities.
Searchers had been scouring the river in the Cypress Park area Sunday afternoon for 16-year-old Carlos Jovel and 15-year-old Gustavo Ramirez.
They had been the subject of a search since Friday, when the boys’ families reported their sons missing.
Capt. Andrew Neiman told the Los Angeles Times the search did not initially focus on the river because their families didn’t know they had gone swimming. The river search was launched Sunday when investigators received information that the boys were last seen in the river.
