Lafayette main break leaves about 60 customers without water

LAFAYETTE (BCN) — East Bay Municipal Utility District crews are at the scene of a water main break on Monday night in Lafayette.

The main break was first reported around 7 p.m. near Old Tunnel Road and Windsor Drive, according to EBMUD spokeswoman Allison Kastama said.

The break occurred on an 8-inch cast iron main, Kastama said.

About 60 customers in the area are currently without water, according to Kastama.

EBMUD crews currently at the scene, attempting to repair the main break. Crews are expected to finish work around 9 a.m. Tuesday, Kastama said.
