Man struck, seriously injured by car in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) — A 69-year-old man was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle in San Francisco’s Fillmore District on Friday night, police said.

The collision was reported at 9:16 p.m. at the intersection of Fillmore and McAllister streets.

The pedestrian was walking east on McAllister Street in the crosswalk when a four-door black Acura driven by a 49-year-old woman struck him while turning from westbound McAllister to southbound Fillmore Street, according to police.

The man suffered a severed thumb and head lacerations. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, police said.

The driver was not arrested following the collision, according to police.

No other information about the collision was immediately available.
