UPDATE 8:37 P.M.
(KRON) — The Oakland Fire Department responded and was able to get the blaze under control in about 30 minutes. Fire crews also caught a bit of a break because the wind was blowing the flames away from the marina.
Once the flames were under control, crews also deployed booms on the water to catch any leaking fuel. In this case, it was mostly as a precaution.
Once the fire was out, the remains of the badly burned boat were towed to another part of the marina to keep it from sinking in deep water.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
UPDATE 12:43 PM: The fire has been put out.
Fire placed under control. FFs still putting out hotspots, pumping out listing vessels.
