Stray cat hits the ice before San Jose Sharks game

SAN JOSE (KRON) — A stray cat made a guest appearance on the ice before a San Jose Sharks game on Friday at the SAP Center

The small, black cat took to the ice for warm-ups running along the boards towards the giant Shark Head.

He escaped beneath the seating stands through an open door, then was safely retrieved by staff.

“Joe PAW-velski” was transferred to a local animal shelter where he will go a full health examination and a microchip scan to ensure he doesn’t have an owner.

That night, the Sharks beat the Nashville Predators 5-2.

Stay with KRON 4 News for updates on the cat’s adoption.
