SANTA ROSA (KRON) — Police are investigating a shooting in Santa Rosa after a man showed up to a hospital with a gunshot wound Wednesday, according to police.
Officers with the Santa Rosa Police Department responded to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital on a report a shooting victim had just arrived at the emergency room.
The time of the incident was not immediately available.
The initial investigation revealed the victim was a passenger in a vehicle traveling in the area of Stony Point and Sebastopol roads when a man in another vehicle pulled up along side the victim’s vehicle, police said.
The suspect then fired a handgun into the passenger side of the vehicle.
The victim suffered an injury that was not considered life-threatening, police said.
Detectives from the police department’s Gang Crimes Team responded to investigate the shooting.
Police have not released the identity of the victim.
