OAKLAND (KRON) — Police in Oakland have arrested seven teens accused in a series of robberies after a pursuit into San Leandro on Monday morning, according to police.
Patrol officers were told on Monday morning about at least four robberies reported on Sunday, and they were told about a reported stolen car believed to be connected to the robberies, police said.
Another robbery was reported Monday near the corner of Ivy Drive and Park Boulevard near Lake Merritt at 11:07 a.m.
A few minutes later at 11:21 a.m., yet another attempted robbery was reported about a mile away in the 1300 block of Trestle Glen Road, police said.
As police responded, they received information that the group appeared to be driving a different vehicle. Officers spotted the car and tried to pull the suspects over, police said.
But the driver fled, leading police on a pursuit that lasted nearly 10 miles into San Leandro. Finally the suspects got out of the car in the 1700 block of Bancroft Avenue, just before the car caught fire.
Police arrested all seven suspects who had been in the car. They included four males and three females between 13 and 17 years old, police said. Their names have not been released.
No one was injured in the vehicle fire and pursuit, according to police.
