VALLEJO (KRON) — Police are searching for a man suspected of arson Tuesday morning after a fire killed a 5-year-old boy in Vallejo.
Police have identified Darrylone Shuemake, a 53-year-old Vallejo resident, as the suspect who may have started the fire on Sunday morning.
The fire broke out around 9:53 a.m. at a residence at 827 Stella St., according to Vallejo fire officials.
At least three people were home when the fire started.
The 5-year-old boy was trapped inside the home and perished in the fire.
His mother and her teenage son were able to escape but both suffered burns. The mother is still in the hospital recovering from the serious burns.
Investigators determined that the fire was set inside of the home.
