Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to visit San Jose Thursday night

SAN JOSE (KRON) — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will visit San Jose Thursday, according to his website.

The event will take place at the San Jose Convention Center in the South Hall, located at 150 West San Carlos Street.

The event is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Trump will also be in Sacramento on Wednesday. The event is expected to end at 8:30 p.m.

“The San Jose Police Department recognizes and respects everyone’s right to express their First Amendment, and we will do everything possible to ensure the event is safe for all attendees and surrounding neighborhoods,” Sgt. Enrique Garcia said.

“We will do everything possible to protect the First Amendment, those attending, our Community, and our Officers,” Chf. Eddie Garcia said.

Drivers should expect delays in the area, starting at 12 p.m.

The following streets will be affected:

• Market Street at William Street
• Market Street, south of San Carlos Street
• So. First Street at San Salvador Street
• Almaden Boulevard at Balbach Street

Earlier Trump appearances across the state have prompted protests outside where he speaks.
