Two men arrested in connection to string of Petaluma residential burglaries

PETALUMA (BCN) — A pattern of burglaries at unoccupied homes being renovated has plagued Petaluma for several months, according to police.

Police said suspects typically forced their way into the homes, and proceed to steal various items, from small fixtures and home improvement items, to hand tools and larger construction equipment.

According to police majority of the break-ins have occurred on the west side of the city.

Recent leads have led detectives to conduct surveillance on two suspects, 64-year-old John Atherton and 52-year-old Bradley Holl, resulting in the two being connected to a burglary in the 600 block of Sunnyslope Avenue.

Both Atherton and Holl were contacted in the vicinity of G and 2nd Streets and were allegedly found to be in possession of property from the burglary on Sunnyslope Avenue.

Police said the two men were also in possession of various items of property allegedly taken in other burglaries.

Atherton and Holl were arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail.
