FAIRFIELD (BCN) — Two people were arrested Friday after officers discovered that a Suisun City home had been converted into a marijuana grow house, according to Fairfield police.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home in the 600 block of Golden Eye Way, where they confiscated 633 marijuana plants at various stages of growth police said.

Several plants being harvested were in the drying phase, waiting to be processed before being sold. Officers also recovered about 10 pounds of processed marijuana buds, police said.

Two people inside the house were arrested on suspicion of selling marijuana, cultivating marijuana, maintaining a residence for the purpose of trafficking narcotics and conspiracy. They’ve been identified as 27-year-old Qing Yang Zheng of Suisun City and 31-year-old Virginia resident Zhen Sheng Xu, according to police.

Detectives estimate the total value of the recovered marijuana to be between $284,850 and $2,469,689. The value is based on the quality of the marijuana produced and the amount of product by weight yielded from the 633 plants, police said.

Detectives believe the operation is likely related to an Asian organized crime group based out of the San Francisco area, according to police.
