4th of July 2016: fireworks, parades, celebrations around the Bay Area

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Red, white and boom!

The skies will light up over the Bay Area on July 4, & we’ll be there to cover it! Tune in to KRON 4 at 9 p.m. for our big LIVE fireworks special!

We’re bringing the biggest and best fireworks shows from all over the Bay Area. No sparklers here (although we love sparklers). It all starts Monday night at 9 p.m.  Wanna join the fun live from the scene with KRON 4? Our crews will be at:

Pier 39 Fourth of July Celebration
Monday, July 4, 10:00 AM

Witness the skies sparkle red, white and blue as PIER 39 celebrates Independence Day with fun for the whole family! Check out special exhibits West of the PIER 39 Entrance Plaza from 11am-5pm before rocking out to the Bay Area’s favorite cover band Tainted Love – The Best of the 80s Live from 5-8pm in the PIER 39 Entrance Plaza. At 9:30pm, look to the sky for The City & County of San Francisco’s spectacular fireworks display. Grab your stars and stripes and take advantage of PIER 39’s amazing 180-degree Bay views this 4th of July!




4th Of July Family Fun Fireworks Celebration
Monday, July 4 at 4 p.m. 

Join the City of Livermore and Livermore Downtown as they celebrate the 4th of July in Downtown Livermore. Fireworks display will be launched off of the top of the Parking Structure on Railroad Avenue. Family Fun, great restaurant and shopping specials and an opportunity to gather with Livermore friends and neighbors in this great American tradition.




Alameda County Fair – Concert & Fireworks Spectacular!
Monday, July 4 at 9:30 PM

The 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular promises to live up to its name with non-stop, razzle-dazzle fireworks set to music performed by the Oakland Symphony and we will have a Salute to Hometown Heroes Video before fireworks!

Show starts at approximately 9:30pm, with best viewing at the Budweiser Grandstand (at the Horse Racing Track).




Orinda July 4th Parade and Celebration
Monday, July 4 at 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM

On July 4th there are events for every age group starting with the annual Pancake Breakfast, flag raising ceremony, fun run, parade, live music, food, games and booths in the park following the parade. Everyone is invited to participate in the planning, sponsor a booth or event, participate in the parade, host a booth in the park, or just come and enjoy the events.

35th Annual Summer Festival and Chili Cook Off
Monday, July 4 at 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Chili teams compete for over $2,000 in cash and prizes. Food, Beer & Margaritas, Chili, Live Music, and Stanford Federal Credit Union Ice Cream & Dessert Parlor. Kids Area includes art projects with the Palo Alto Art Center, face painting, fun sporting activities, games and more.

Free shuttle buses will run from the south parking lot of Cubberley Community Center at 4000 Middlefield Rd. from noon to 5:00 PM on the day of the event.

4th of July Fireworks Spectacular With the San Francisco Symphony
Monday, July 4 at 8:00 PM

Join the San Francisco Symphony at Shoreline Amphitheatre for the annual concert and fireworks spectacular as the San Francisco Symphony celebrates the Fourth of July. This year’s main theme will be the sporting life.  Witness a musical spectacle, a sonic gymnatics celebrating the joys of victory, freedom, inspiration, and hope that embody the essence of the nation’s independence.  Of course, the highlight of this event will be the breathtaking fireworks display accompanied by the orchestra.

Monday, July 4 at 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM

The 4th of July is a great day to have a lot of fun. The biggest party is at the Berkeley Marina from noon-10PM with all kinds of free fun! Adventure Playground for kids, always a favorite, where children can build with hammers, nails, saws, paint and parental supervision, is open until 8PM. Get your face painted, try the giant slide, or splash in the water at the beach!

There’s yummy food trucks and booths, handmade crafts, free dragon boat rowing from 12-5PM, massages, live pony rides and carnival rides near Skates, an inflatable bouncy area, mini-train rides, giant slides, and water bubble ball rides all culminating in the grand fireworks over the water from the end of the Berkeley Pier at 9:35PM which are presented by the City of Berkeley.

July 4th Festival of Family Fun at Jack London Square
Monday, July 4 at 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Celebrate Independence Day at the Jack London Square July 4th Festival of Family Fun. This festive day will fill the waterfront with interactive activities and entertainment for both parents and children. City of Milpitas July 4th Celebration
Monday, July 4 at 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM

On July 4th the City of Milpitas will have its annual Independence Day Celebration! Come enjoy music, food, and fun at the “Waving the Red, White & Blue” Pool Party from 1-4 pm, then rock out at the “Red White & Boom” Concert and Fireworks Show featuring Orquestra Borinquen from 7-9 pm ($3 Admission). Grab some grub at the new food trucks by Food Truck Mafia. Gates open at 5 pm, space is limited. Tickets are available for purchase at the Milpitas Community Center and Sports Center.

2016 Concord July 4th Fireworks
Monday, July 4 at 4 PM

Celebrate Concord features a 5K/Kids run, parade, festival and fireworkds. Celebrate the 4th of July with your family on Monday July 4th, 2016 at Mt. Diablo High School. The Gates open at 4pm and the Fireworks will go off at dark.

Benicia’s City Park Fireworks
Monday, July 4 from noon to 7PM

This event is a wonderful way to spend the 4th! Benicia’s City Park is filled with arts and crafts, delicious hot food, live entertainment and children’s activities. Fireworks start about 9 p.m. at the foot of First Street making this a great event for the whole family.
