South Carolina (WSPA) – A South Carolina woman was arrested after deputies say her children – ages seven and nearly seven months old – tested positive for cocaine and marijuana.

Evelyn Trunise Young, 23, was arrested Monday by Union County Sheriff’s Office deputies after a referral by the county Department of Social Services.

She was charged with unlawful neglect of both children according to the incident report.

Hair specimens from Young and her two children were handed over to DSS for drug analysis testing on June 9.

The incident reports indicate the hair samples for her seven-year-old daughter and nearly seven-month-old girl both tested positive for the presence of cocaine and marijuana.

Young was arrested, but had been released by Tuesday morning according to the Union County Jail website.
