Update: Firefighters extinguish 2-alarm fire in San Jose

SAN JOSE (KRON) — A two-alarm grass fire burned about 2.5 acres this afternoon in San Jose, a San Jose Fire Department captain said.

The fire was first reported at 3:31 p.m. at Mossdale Way and North Jackson Avenue, near Interstate Highway 680.

It took firefighters about 2.5 hours to get the fire under control.

The cause is under investigation

Multiple homes were threatened with the high winds and temperature.

According to San Jose Fire Department, it is said to be the seventh or eighth grass fire in the past three days.
