Oakland police car catches fire after vehicle pursuit

OAKLAND (KRON) — A police car caught on fire following a crash on Sunday afternoon near the corner of 38th Avenue and Carrington Street, according to police officials.

According to police officials, an officer was transported to the hospital after a vehicle pursuit involving a possible armed suspect.

Several witnesses were at the scene and were able to capture images of the police vehicle on fire.

Oakland police officers were able to catch and  arrest the suspect at the 28th Avenue and Foothill Boulevard, after the suspect crashed into several parked vehicles.
