KING CITY (BCN) — A King City man is facing a 38-year prison sentence after pleading guilty Friday to charges of child molestation, the Monterey County District Attorney’s office announced Monday.
Fermin Vera-Lopez, 42, admitted to molesting two young girls in incidents that occurred nearly 15 years apart from each other, according to the district attorney’s office.
On April 8, 2015, allegations came to light that Vera-Lopez had molested a 13-year-old girl repeatedly, according to the district attorney’s office.
After King City police investigated the case, it was revealed that another girl had allegedly been molested by the suspect 14 years earlier, when she was 10 years old.
Vera-Lopez was arrested and on Friday pleaded guilty to molesting the two victims.
Vera-Lopez, who will have to register as a sex offender, will be formally sentenced to 38 years in state prison on Aug. 12.
