SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The 2015-16 NBA regular season has officially come to an end but the games are just beginning.
Kevin Durant is a free agent and teams across the league are finding ways to add the superstar to their roster.
The Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, and Oklahoma City Thunder are all among the teams that are trying to recruit the 2014 NBA MVP to their franchise.
Oklahoma City remains the favorite to re-sign Durant as he’s played there his entire career. The Thunder have made the NBA Finals once during his tenure, falling short against the Heat back in 2012.
The Thunder met with Durant before anyone else did on Thursday. The Warriors and Clippers met with Durant on Friday. The Spurs and Celtics met with him on Saturday.
The Heat will talk to him on Sunday and the Thunder will have one more meeting with Durant and then he will make his decision.
Oklahoma City met with Durant for about five hours, the Warriors did for two and a half hours, the Clippers met for four hours and the Spurs for under two, according to multiple reports.
Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala were in attendance for the Warriors along with Steve Kerr, Bob Myers, and Joe Lacob.
Other teams brought out their stars and coaches, but the Celtics took an unusual route. They also invited New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady to the meeting.
Durant is expected to announce where he is going following the weekend.
Had heard Celtics might use local firepower to recruit KD. Appears they’re bringing Tom Brady to meet w/ him: pic.twitter.com/7QQKbZLCrx
